Official Book Reviews
5-Stars Readers' Favorites Official Review for "Secrets in the Shallows" (Book 1): "...A fascinating tale of murder, mystery and the paranormal. It is gripping stuff, a story that hooks you right from the start and drags you deep into a traditional murder mystery but with a paranormal twist. This is a real page-turner and... I felt as though I were there every step of the way. This is an eerie story with fantastic characters and I guarantee you will not have a clue who the murderer is. I made a few guesses but was wrong every step of the way." |
5-Stars Reader's Favorites Official Review for "Devil in the Details" (Book 2)": "...Even better than the first book. With the scene well and truly set, this book starts off right where book 1 ended. We start to see some of the connections come together in ways that just build the suspense even more. There are plenty more twists and turns in this action-packed sequel and you will be tempted to sit and read the book in one sitting. More clues are spun out, characters are developed even more, and there are a few surprises on offer too. By the end of the book, you will think you know who the killer is, but I think book 3 will hold the real key, the final clues to bring the entire mystery to an end. This is another fantastic offering from Ms. Brouillette, with plenty of non-stop action in a fast sequel. I can't wait to read book 3 now, just to see how it all ends." |
5-Stars Readers' Favorites Official Review for "Method in the Madness" (Book 3)": "...Method in the Madness, The Monastery Murders Book 3 by Kimberly Brouillette is a great finish to a series. It draws books 1 and 2 together nicely but, although there are references to the first two books, you cannot read this as a standalone – you must read all three in order to get the true picture. This book took a much deeper dive into the past, weaving together the loose ends from the start of the series and I guarantee you will be surprised at how things turn out. Ms. Brouillette has a way of writing that draws you into the story; hook, line, and sinker. This is more of a thriller with murder/mystery and supernatural undertones. The characters are well developed people and the main antagonist feels as real as any psychopath you might meet on the streets – without even knowing it. A great end to the series. I really enjoyed it." (NOTE: First portion of official review contains spoilers. This portion is taken from the second half of the review.) |
